Electronics >> PCB ( Printed Circuit Board )

A PCB (printed circuit board) or PC board is a piece of phenolic or glass-epoxy board with copper clad on one or both sides. The portions of copper that aren't needed are etched off, leaving "printed" circuits which connect the components.

PCB is used to mechanically support and electrically connect electronic components using conductive pathways, or traces, etched from copper sheets laminated onto a non-conductive substrate.

PCB (Printed Circuit Board)
It is also sometimes referred to as printed wiring board (PWB) or etched wiring board. A PCB assembled with electronic components is called printed circuit assembly (PCA), OR printed circuit board assembly (PCBA).

PCBs are rugged, inexpensive and highly reliable.

The electronics industry's PCB design, assembly, and quality control needs are set by standards that are published by the IPC organization.
